In the spirit of Aretha Franklin's ground breaking 1969 shows at the Fillmore West, San Francisco's temple of rock music, Kid Confucius will bring their soul music to traditional rock stomping grounds around Australia. The Street Corner Soul Tour will present a new frontier in Australian music, rooted in the Soul movement of the 60s and 70s but powered by the audacity and spirit of Australia?s hard-edged rock scene. The Tour kicks off with two nights at Sydneys own heartland of rock, the Annandale Hotel on Friday the 7th and Saturday the 8th of September.

This is the second tour in support of Kid Confucius sophomore album STRIPES. Released in February 2007, it has received critical acclaim. Rolling Stone awarding it 4 stars calling the first single Moment ?sublime... [A standout] on a mighty fine album. With a sound that conjures a Marvin Gaye soul symphony performed by the Beatles and conducted by Kanye West, Kid Confucius are ready to give the country a live show to match.

Bringing the show to street corners across the country, look out for impromptu jams on footpaths and public streets, at selected destinations, on the afternoon of the band?s gig dates. Details of these jams will be revealed on Kidconfucius.com on the day of the performance.
