****************************************

Yes, Afro-Kreol is back and bigger than ever. Here is the latest and greatest for the WAMI award winning band: ‘Afro-Kreol’ is the hot topic in the Australian music industry right now, thanks to Grace Barbé and her band after their Melbourne ’Kreol Daughter’ album launch tour, funded by the Department of the Arts and Culture WA. Grace and band got the buzz going over east and they did successfully. The band got onto Frontier Touring (one of the most respected, long standing, and proactive concert promoters in Australasia) after receiving interests from the company. Grace has also been invited to perform at the Australasian World Music Expo in Melbourne this November. The band got plenty of airplay and interviews in Melbourne from ABC radio, Triple J, Triple R, PBSfm and community radio stations. The week long tour meant hard work and plenty of PR. The gigs were packed with surprising punters and music industry interests figuring out what the hell and where the hell this unique, exotic and funky groove comes from!!! It was a great delight to see their surprised faces when they found out this band was simply based in...... Perth!!! Now the band will be bringing back their Afro-Kreol & reggae sound to Perth: Friday September 11 at the Funk Club, Leederville Hotel upstairs. If you don’t yet know what the fuss is about, Grace’s music like her mixed heritage, reflects the diverse influences of her Creole culture; a colourful combination of African and Indian Ocean island roots, laced with the modern pop sensibility of funk and reggae. The cross-over of roots and pop takes you on a musical journey of the modern-day African diaspora, creating a fresh and distinctive sound in the world music fusion. Come down for two big nights of quality world music guaranteed to get you grooving and to simply have a good time. You don’t want to miss this!
