Funk Club presents  - SOUL SAFARI Fridays at Double Lucky

Yes that’s right!  Just because Funk Club isn’t happening every week, doesn’t mean you can’t still get your weekly dose of Funk!

Funk Club presents Soul Safari! Every Friday night at Double Lucky

Cool meets kooky in this night of soul/funk treats and 80’s boogie.

With resident DJ Charlie Bucket laying down the grooves and different guest DJs, musicians and performers each week, you’re sure to be entertained.

Friday 12th September

This week Charlie is joined by Warren Harvey on percussion (Dunumba & Akwaaba)

WARREN Harvey began at Perth Modern School in 1988 studying classical percussion and drum kit performing in the school's concert band, orchestra, jazz band and choir’s.  He went on to the WA Academy of Performing Arts completing his Associate Diploma of Performance (Jazz Major) in 1994 playing in WAYJO and the jazz percussion ensemble.  In 2002 he was introduced to African percussion and dance.  He has been the key Dun Dun player in the African percussion groups Akwaaba since 2005, Dunumba since 2006, 9 piece band Z Team and with various DJs at many Perth clubs & bars.  He travelled to Senegal with Lamine Sonko and Shona Hill (Asiko) in 2007 for a 4 week drum and dance course.  Since returning to WA, he teaches Dun Dun and performs with Dunumba, Akwaaba, Afrotonic, Ngewel Kora Group, Imagine Dance, Tetrafide percussion ensemble (APP Programe) ,various DJs and many visiting African artists and groups.[/
